Torquay Harbour - self catering holiday house accommodation to rent in Torquay UK

Visitors and holidaymakers who are looking for self catering holiday accommodation to rent in Devon often wonder where the best place to stay in Torquay is. As owners of our own luxury self catering holiday house accommodation in Torquay, we would like to make the case for the wonderful Torquay Harbour. The most awesome thing about staying in Torquay Harbour is its proximity to the best beaches, bars, shops, and restaurants. When you stay in Torquay self catering accommodation near the Harbour, you are very close to the stunning Meadfoot Beach and hidden the little gem, Antsey’s Cove. These beautiful beaches feel like they belong in the Mediterranean rather than the UK, with their crystal clear waters and wonderous geology. In fact, the geology of this location is world-renowned and is a very important historical location. This area forms part of the UNESCO Global Geopark that is Torbay, and is not to be missed on a visit to Devon! In just five minute’s walk from our self catering holiday accommodation in Torquay, you can be on the high street of town where you will find lots of interesting and unique little shops, but also the standard high street shops and brands you will find in most UK cities and towns. The beach bars around the harbour are the beating heart of this quintessential UK seaside resort. Our favourite is the Wesup and Salcombe Gin Company’s terrace bar right in the harbour where you can watch the comings and goings of the port and gaze upon beautiful scenery – all while enjoying some of the U.K.'s finest gin cocktails! The alfresco cafe and bar culture in Torquay is again similar to lots of Mediterranean hotspots and is all located around the bustling harbour. Both Deliveroo and Uber Eats deliver to our luxury self catering Torquay holiday homes, but if you'd like to go out and sample some of the local delights, you will find everything from creative tapas, to pizza, Thai food, and some delicious fish and chips. All establishments highly recommended! If you're looking for a bit of history during your stay in Torquay, the famous Kents Cavern is about 20 minute’s walk away from the house. Here, you can find the remains of Ice Age Bears, and visit one of only two places in the world that has evidence of three different human species. And you thought Torquay was all beer and kiss me quick hats! All the above is reachable on foot, so our house in Torquay Harbour makes a fantastic base in Devon for exploring the riches this incredible area has to offer.
